Crime Blotter for June 7th through the 13th
Car Theft:
On June 7, 2011 at 9:40 am, officers responded to the 5800 block of Uplander Way regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he parked and locked his 2001 Ford Van on June 3, 2011. He returned to the location on June 7th and discovered his van missing.
Assault:
On June 9, 2011 at 9:35 pm, officers responded to the 3900 block of Huron Avenue regarding a battery investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he and a friend had gotten into a verbal argument over a cell phone. The argument escalated into the suspect striking the victim several times. The suspect then fled the location.
Car Theft:
On June 10, 2011 at 9:30 am, officers responded to the 5800 block of Sepulveda Boulevard regarding a stolen vehicle investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he said parked his 1999 Ford truck with the engine running. He returned in 10 minutes and discovered his truck was missing.
Commercial Burglary:
On June 11, 2011 at 3:15 pm, officers responded to the 3800 block of Overland Avenue regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them following; he went to the location and stored his personal items in a locker at the fitness center at 12:45 pm. He returned at 2:15pm and discovered his locker was open and his property missing.
Vandalism:
On June 11, 2011 at 3:25 pm, officers responded to the 13400 block of Washington Boulevard regarding a vandalism investigation. The officer met with the victim who told him the following; he said he parked and locked his 2010 Ford Escape at 3:00 pm. He returned to his vehicle at 3:15 pm and discovered an unknown suspect had put a 5 inch gouge to the driver’s side door.
Assault:
On June 12, 2011 at 10:00 pm, officers responded to the intersection of Centinela Avenue and Green Valley Circle regarding an assault investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; she had met the suspect at the above location and gotten into a verbal argument over a personal issue. The suspect then hit the victim with a bottle and fled the location.
