Representatives from Healthy Schools Culver City, the Culver City Education Foundation and Growing Great met with Julie Garcia, CCUSD Food Service Director last week as a follow-up to the tours offered of the individual school sites and of the central kitchen. These tours and last week’s meeting are part of an ongoing effort to enhance communication and education around school food service issues. Now is you chance to add in your thoughts, and your favorite healthy recipes.
CCEF and Growing Great have demonstrated support for parents who are interested in advocating for improved school lunches. HSCC will continue to work with these partners and with district staff on behalf of students.
Julie would like to hear from parents what their kids’ favorite healthy meals are and to please submit recipes if possible. Also, she’d like to know how you teach and support your kids to make healthy food choices.
You can submit your tips and recipes or menu ideas to Julie at:

We will be compiling your suggestions and recipe ideas to share with parents as a resource.
