LWV Offers Voter Registration @ Grand Central Market

B0171173D02388DB86AF50DDE849853E_787_442The League of Women Voters of Los Angeles helps make voter registration easier before Election Day by setting up booths at the entrance to Grand Central Market, located at 317 S. Broadway, Los Angeles, 90013, beginning Wednesday, August 10 through Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM when the League will help the public determine eligibility, registration status, and answer questions about polling place, identification, mail-in ballots, changing party affiliation and how to update registration status. Voter registration tables are set up on the South Hill Street side of the market.

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan 96-year-old organization has fundamentally reshaped American democracy by engaging millions of voters in the election process and strengthening laws and voting rights so that voting is free, fair and accessible to all.

Additionally, the League will guide individuals to Voters Edge, where voters find detailed information on candidates and ballot issues based on zip code in time for Election Day, held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016.

Located in the historic core of downtown Los Angeles, Grand Central Market opened in 1917 and has been in continuous operation since. It is an iconic food and shopping destination accessible by bus and Los Angeles Metro.

“We hope to increase the number of voters this election year by providing resources, voter education and tools to make the process go smoother than ever,” says League of Women Voters of Los Angeles’ Executive Director, Marilu Guevara.
