Benita Bike Dance @ Culver City Senior Center

Benita Bike’s DanceArt brings a program of dance exploration to the Culver City Senior Center on Saturday, April 20, 2024, 1:30 pm. The Senior Center is located at 4095 Overland Avenue, Culver City. This FREE arts performance is made possible in part by the City of Culver City and its Cultural Affairs Commission, with support from Sony Pictures Entertainment. This dance discovery performance is designed for all ages.

Known for its “beautifully evocative choreography and lovely company of dancers,” Benita Bike’s DanceArt looks forward to sharing its singular brand of musicality, architectural choreography, and elegant dancing with Culver City audiences. Viewers will not only see performances of engaging modern dance works, but they will be invited to share their thoughts about art and dance.

Featured on this program are three dances. “Off the Path” is a new work filled with fabric and surprising creatures. “Aspects of Me” is a series of solos and duets that include “Me and Myself,” “Me and the Branch, “Me and Her,” and “We.” “For Rose” is about the passing of choreographer Benita Bike’s mother Rose. Stark and poignant, this dance touches on complicated feelings of love, discordance, and death.
