Auditions for Charlotte’s Web at Kentwood

The Kentwood Players are delighted to announce auditions for the next Kentwood Kids Production, “Charlotte’s Web” by Joseph Robinette, adapted from the book by E.B. White.  Auditions will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20 and Sunday, Feb. 21 from 4 to 6pm. at the Westchester Playhouse, located two blocks west of the San Diego Freeway and two blocks north of Manchester at 8301 Hindry Avenue in Westchester, CA 90045.  The production is directed by Meredith M. Sweeney.

All those interested in auditioning must be available for all six performances on Saturdays, April 3, 10, and 17 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please note that rehearsals will be held Sundays through Wednesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with some Saturday afternoons to be scheduled.  There will be two Thursday rehearsals on April 1 (Final Dress) and April 8 (Brush-up).

All roles are open to children ages 6-16 years. Previous experience or involvement with the Kentwood Kids program is NOT necessary.  Auditions will consist of readings from the script as well as movement and improv games. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes (no sandals!) to the auditions and be familiar with the characters and story.  For additional information or to get a copy of the script prior to auditions, please contact the Director, Meredith M. Sweeney at meredithmsweeney@yahoo.com.

It is preferred to have all kids in the cast, but adults are welcome to audition for the roles of John and Martha Arable, Homer and Edith Zuckerman, Lurvy and Uncle
