The next public community meeting on the proposed development at 5757 Uplander will be on Jan. 7, 2025, and will be on Zoom. The ‘scoping meeting” will discuss the mixed use project; a 1,077 unit proposal with three separate seven story buildings.
Located on an 8-plus acre site that is currently in the “Commercial Regional Business Zone,” the plan requires the demolition of the existing 146,414 square foot single-story commercial buildings in the Fox Hills neighborhood of Culver City.
The proposal for construction of 1,077 residential units only includes 78 very low-income units, and will offer 5,772 sq. ft. of ground floor retail space, along with subterranean parking with 1,392 parking spaces.
Based on the initial study of this project, the city determined that an Environmental Impact Report was required due to the potential for significant impact on several issues including Air Quality, Greenhouse Gas Emissions, Land Use, Population & Housing, Public Services, Recreation and Utilities and Service Systems.
The community meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2025 can be accessed at bit.ly/5757UplanderScopingMeeting. Comments may be submitted in advance of the meeting at [email protected]
Fox Hills is currently the most dense residential area in Culver City. There are approximately 2600 units in 26 different multi-unit complexes adjacent to where this development is planned.
The Draft Environmental Impact Report will be published after the meeting; the date is yet to be confirmed.
