Donna Sternberg and Dancers “Awe and Wonder” Dance/Science Fusion

Prepare to experience the collision of art and science in a way you’ve never seen before. Donna Sternberg & Dancers proudly presents Awe and Wonder, a one-of-a-kind performance where cutting-edge scientific ideas inspire innovative choreography. This year’s theme, AI and the Metaverse, brings together four choreographers and four scientists to create a fusion of science and dance that goes beyond literal interpretation, capturing the imagination and sparking conversation.

In this unique collaboration, each scientist delves into their field with a choreographer, exploring everything from artificial intelligence to the mysteries of the metaverse. The resulting dances are vivid expressions of these complex ideas, translated into movement by artists from diverse backgrounds: hip-hop choreographer Tai White, Middle Eastern choreographer Aubre Hill, African choreographer Wilfried Souly, and contemporary choreographer Donna Sternberg.

The scientific minds behind the collaboration include Yajie Zhao, David Nelson, Aiichiro Nakano, and Shrikanth Narayanan, whose work spans the realms of AI, digital evolution, and more. Through this dialogue between choreographers and scientists, Awe and Wonder transcends traditional dance, inviting audiences to witness the creative process and explore how science can fuel artistic inspiration.

Each performance will conclude with an engaging post-performance discussion where the choreographers and scientists share their collaborative journey and take questions from the audience. This is more than just a show – it’s an opportunity to step into a conversation at the intersection of two powerful disciplines.
