La Ballona Elementary went on a “precautionary lockdown” due to a report received from a student referring to an adult outside campus.
Upon learning of the report of a weapon outside campus, the Culver City Police Department placed the school on a precautionary lockdown at 8:40am and the La Ballona school community was immediately notified.
From Dr. Brian Lucas, Superintendent of Schools, “During that time, the police thoroughly checked our campus and the surrounding neighborhood with our Culver City Unified School District Security, and then we received the all clear at 9:20 am.”
No suspicious individuals were located.
