There is always a need for bone marrow donors, and right now, the need is urgent for Maria Rodriguez. The much loved second grade teacher at El Marino Elementary School is looking for community volunteers who can become a part of the bone marrow registry. After surviving cancer, she is facing both a second bout with the disease and an additional diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. She is in need of a bone marrow transplant, and there is no available match.

To join the registry, you must be between the ages of 18 and 44, in good health, and willing to donate to anyone in need. Screening available on April 12.
