The inevitable end of year sum-up ‘best of’ lists are all over the internet, and Culver City scores on Los Angles Magazine’s listicle of the “14 Best Mom-and Pop Bookstores in LA.” If you are a bibliophile, there’s nothing quite as fun as cruising the stacks, finding the unexpected or unknown treasure; that book that might just change it all.

Earlier this year, sisters Bea and Leah Koch opened the first-ever romance-only bookstore right in Culver City (they call

While Arcana does keep it’s focus on art and architecture, The Ripped Bodice will be happy to order any book you want. Jeff Bezos does not need any more of your money, and you will enjoy reading that much more when you get to talk to other readers. New year’s resolution? Buy more books IRL.
