The inaugural event raised thousands of dollars in 2013 for local students with special needs, with 1,300 runners and walkers flooding the streets of downtown Culver City.

Students, teachers, parents, and administrators formed teams from Culver City schools and were joined by other local supporters including running clubs, non-profits, religious groups, and government officials.

About the 2013 event, one participant shared, “It’s such a great opportunity to promote healthy, active living in Culver City as well as bring the community together. My family enjoyed this race so much and it was so fun to be out there with friends and all the kids and families.”

This year’s race boasts a 5K, 10K, Kids Run, expo, and Family Fun Zone all based in Media Park in downtown Culver City. This unique event brings together families in the special needs community with local citizens, athletes, and supporters. The expo and Family Fun Zone are free and open to the public. They will feature resources for active, healthy lifestyles alongside special needs-related resources.

Details including sponsorship opportunities, registration fees, course map, schedule, and expo vendors are at www.culvercityrun.org. Organizations and individuals wishing to sponsor the race and/or join the expo can contact [email protected].
