I would like to thank all my supporters who spoke at the last City Council meeting demanding the City move with a strong, defensible ban or moratorium. To keep the pressure on our City officials to follow up on your input, and to give those unable to attend the opportunity to voice their concerns, I am inviting every Culver City citizen to join me for an organizing meeting at 7PM on Friday, April 4th at the home of community activist, Dr Suzanne De Benedittis, 10708 Northgate Street, CC 90230.
Similar to the Neighborhood Advisory Panels I am advocating for Culver City, your participatory involvement will be most welcome. We heard from residents testifying to the toxic smells and high number of cancers in their neighborhoods, to now suffering asthma, subsidence and cracks in their homes. And we learned about how inadequate the current bond that the City requires from the oil company.
Our meeting will be a response to the City Attorney welcoming more input from the citizenry. We will put all concerns in writing.
