Art Students Win LegiSchool

Congratulations to the winners of this year’s LegiSchool Art Contest. The LegiSchool Project is a civic education collaboration between California State University, Sacramento and the State Legislature, administered by the Center for California Studies.

The purpose of the contest was for student artists to focus on agriculture in California and express what it meant to them. Their artwork will be displayed in the California State Capitol during the month of January 2014.

AVPA art student, Jakitha Chanthisa won the grand prize of $150. Mia Cambell-Kiyabu and Rachel Tucker were runners up and won $100 each.

Finalists included Jonathan Gutwirth, Amy Wong, Emma Juncosa, Danya Aleem and Tamalika De.
