CCUSD Capital Projects/Master Planning Session – Sept. 3

Culver City Unified School District has scheduled a Capital Projects/Master Facility Planning Work Study session for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3 tentatively located in the cafetorium at Linwood E. Howe Elementary School.

The goal of the session will be to review what the District has learned and what information is needed to move ahead and to collaboratively identify process goals for moving forward with a variety of capital improvement projects.

This work study session will serve as a catalyst for the District’s goals and action planning to address district-wide facility needs.

“We will review and celebrate the great work has been completed or initiated this summer and will highlight the work that has been done to transfer our needs assessment into a more strategic document,” said Superintendent Dave LaRose, who added that the session will enable drafted project examples to be revised into themes and priority categories with descriptions; including conceptual budgets and detailed costs by work category.

“I look forward to a constructive session, wherein we can provide information to those unaware of our schools’ massive infrastructure needs, as well as the financing vehicles available to school districts in order to address those needs,” said Board of Education President Kathy Paspalis. “Our kids, teachers and staff deserve better than what we’re able to provide them with currently. I am hopeful that this meeting will reestablish our shared commitments to address our facility needs and begin developing a plan of action that empowers us to move in the most timely and responsible manner.”
