Marcom Masque Awards Celebrate Kentwood Players

On July 2 the Kentwood Players 2010-2011 Marcom Masque Awards Dinner and Awards Ceremony was held at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Culver City, organized by Shari Barrett and Linda Reinhardt, with Forbidden Kentwood entertainment directed and written by Scott Martin, and Michelle Rosen as Mistress of Ceremony.

The annual event celebrated the past six production season, and all Kentwood Players members in good standing who have seen all six productions cast their vote in several categories for our annual Marcom Masque Awards, named in honor of Kentwood Players founders Jan and Arky Marcom.

Every performer, designer, producer, and director in all six productions are nominated in categories determined by the show’s director and approved by the Board of Directors.

The 2010-2011 season included the following productions:

“The Importance of Being Earnest”
“As You Like It”
“Dracula”
“Annie”
“The Farndale Avenue… Murder Mystery”
“Parade”

In addition, Special Board Awards which are voted upon by the Board of Directors are presented to Kentwood Players members in recognition of their dedication and service to the group. Recipients of these awards are kept secret until they are announced at the ceremony by the Board member who nominated that person for the award.

Technical awards are presented to every Kentwood Players member who volunteered their time and artistic skills as a crew member on 2-6 productions during the season. Award certificates will be handed out at the July 20 Kentwood Players general membership meeting.
