The CCUSD Board of Education will convene a special meeting on Wednesday, March 16 at 4:40 pm at the Multi-purpose room at the Culver City Middle School located at 4601 Elenda Street.

The only substantive topic on the agenda is as follows;

8.1     Approval of the Contract for Employment of Superintendent for Culver City Unified School District.

The employment contract for Patricia Jaffe in the position of Superintendent is submitted for formal approval by the Board of Education.

Quite the contract it is- covering seven pages, it specifies that Jaffe will receive a salary of $201,000 annually, but the she will not get a cell phone or a gas card (often mentioned by the unions as perks that the administrators could certainly forgo-) The proposed Superintendent’s contract goes to June of 2012.

It is anticipated that a vote on this contract will occur shortly, (or not so shortly) after 4:40 pm.

School Board President Scott Zeidman stated “I don’t think there is a better person anywhere in the country to lead the Culver City School District.”

If the contract is approved, there will be a very informal reception immediately following the meeting. With the crowd that showed up to support her in the last round of school board talks, perhaps we should make it a potluck…
