Crime Blotter – Identity Theft Leaves Money Missing

Crime Blotter for May 29th through June 4th.
Commercial Burglary:
On May 29, 2012 at 2:03 pm, officers responded to the 8400 block of Warner Drive regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the reporting party who told them the following; he said on May 24, 2012 at 3:53 pm, he locked and secured the location, when he returned on May 29, 2012 at 5:47 am, he discovered one of the office windows had been broken out. He also discovered property missing.
Street Robbery:
On May 30, 2012 at 8:51 pm, officers responded to the 10800 block of Venice Boulevard regarding a robbery investigation. The officers met with the victim, who told them the following; she was at her vehicle about to retrieve an item when she saw a male subject approach her and asked her, do you have any money. The suspect then pushed her away from her car and reaches in and grabs her purse. The suspect then fled the location. The suspect was described as a male White, 5’8-5’10, wearing a long sleeve shirt and pants.
Residential Burglary:
On June 1, 2012 at 2:30 pm, officers responded to the 4300 block of Elenda Street regarding a burglary investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he left at 1:30 pm and returned home at 2:20 pm, discovered a rear door opened and his property missing.
Identity Theft:
On June 1, 2012 at 12:30 pm, a victim came to the police department to report that she was a victim of identity theft. The victim said she was checking her balance of her checking account and noticed several transactions that she did not make. She also notified her bank of the authorized transfers of her funds.
Vandalism:
On June 3, 2012 at 1:05 am officers responded to the 3800 block of Cardiff Avenue regarding a vandalism investigation. The officers met with the victim who told them the following; he said he parked and locked his 2005 Volkswagen at 5:23 pm, and when he returned at 12:30 am discovered the rear window had been shattered.
