With deep cuts to state funding, especially for the arts, the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts dance students put their training, spirit, and passion to dance to work on Sunday Oct. 24 at Dance-A-Thon 2010, in an effort to raise vital funding for their dance program. AVPA dance students offered family, friends, teachers, and community members an opportunity to contribute towards their dance education by soliciting pledges in support of their dancing for 3 hours without stopping. Almost 30 students turned out to dance the afternoon away in front of the Frost Auditorium on the CCHS campus.
