Fish Thanks Small Donors for More than $80,000 in Campaign Cash

Bryan “Bubba” Fish announced in his most recent campaign filing that he had received nearly 900 individual contributions totaling $88,875, an average donation of less than $100.

“I’m deeply grateful to everyone who has helped us get this far,” said Fish. “In the last City Council election, corporate interests spent more than $600,000 to unseat progressive leaders. So it means a lot to me that we’ve run a truly people-powered campaign, and raised nearly $90,000 from grassroots supporters.”

The campaign refused to accept donations from fossil fuel, police, and real estate development, companies and organizations, making the fundraising haul all the more impressive.

Thirty organizations have endorsed Bubba’s candidacy so far, representing a range of environmental, housing, and LGBTQ+ groups, as well as seven local Democratic clubs. Backers include the Sierra Club, Equality California, and the Los Angeles County Democratic Party.

The campaign also received endorsements from a number of local elected leaders, including California State Senator Lola Smallwood-Cuevas, Los Angeles County Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell, and State Assemblymember, Isaac Bryan.
