School Board Honors Dr. Young for Social Justice Award

At the Culver City Unified School  Board honored Culver City High School social studies teacher Dr. Kimberly Young. She was recognized on March 9, at the annual California Council for the Social Studies Annual Conference for receiving the California Council of Social Studies 2024 Educator Award for Equity, Inclusion, and Social Justice from the California Council of Social Studies.

The California Council for Social Studies acknowledged Dr. Young’s dedication and contributions to the field of Social Studies education, which are truly commendable.

Dr. Young (pictured with the CCUSD Board and Superintendent Brian Lucas) has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership and innovation, engaging students and fostering critical thinking skills. Her passion for Social Studies education is evident in her commitment to excellence, and they serve as an inspiration to educators across the field.
