The next guest in The Wende Museum’s series “The Political Mandate of the Arts” this coming Wednesday is Amanda Beech, artist, writer, and Dean of Critical Studies at the California Institute of the Arts, Santa Clarita. In her work, she takes philosophy, literature, and politics as a starting point to reflect on narratives of power and alienation. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally; her new book The Intolerable Image: Reason, Realism and Art (MIT Press) will be published in December of this year.
