Downtown Business Association Elects New Leadership with President Lachoff and Exec Director Menthe

The Culver City Downtown Business Association (CCDBA) announced on Dec. 6, 2022 that Kevin Lachoff, a local real estate agent with Newmark Realty, a long-time Culver City resident, and CCDBA Board Member for the past three years, has been elected to the position of President for 2023.

Other board members elected to the Executive Committee include Eric Sims, Co-Vice President, Kirk Douglas Theatre; Ken Kaufman, Co-Vice President, owner, City Tavern and Rush Street; and Kathryn Lundeen, owner, Lundeen’s Gifts, Treasurer.

The Board also announced the appointment of Darrel Menthe, who will take over as Executive Director, effective January 1st, 2023. Darrel, also a long-time resident of Culver City, local business owner, and President of the CCDBA since 2017, will step away from his role at Sage Law Partners, LLC, to take on the position full time. “I’m excited for this opportunity to focus all my efforts towards the continued growth and success of Downtown Culver City. ” said Darrel.

The retirement of current Executive Director Sylvia Bianchi was announced last week during the Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Sled-tacular, where the Board thanked her for her 10 years of service. Sylvia’s 30-year career included the executive director role at Main Street Upland, and Brea Downtown Owners Association before coming to Culver City. “The spectacular crowds and community outpour at our tree lighting celebration made this one of our best events ever, and a wonderful finale to my time here in Downtown Culver City,” said Sylvia. “With Kevin and Darrel’s leadership, I’m excited for the future of Downtown.” Sylvia’s last day will be January 31st, 2023.
