When developers broke ground on the recreation of Culver Studios as a new base for Amazon Studios in 2018, the redesign planned to add five new buildings to the 14-acre studio campus in downtown Culver City. After $620 million and almost five years of work, the redesigned complex has added 410,000 square feet of new office and production space, in addition to two parking structures with almost 2,000 spaces. Prior to the start of construction, tech giant Amazon signed a deal to occupy 530,000 square feet of the property, as well as developer Hackman Capital Partner’s neighboring Culver Steps development. Amazon Studios, IMDb, Amazon Video, and World Wide Advertising will be additional tenants at the complex.
