Wisner Named as CCUSD Teacher of the Year

Congratulations to Mr. Craig Wisner, who was named CCUSD’s District-wide Teacher of the Year by the Culver City Education foundation. Mr. Wisner teaches ceramics at Culver City High School and is a leader for arts education throughout the district. While his ceramics classes have been on hiatus because of COVID, his warm and sincere support for his students online helped many to deal with distance learning.

CCEF leader Wendy Hamill offered “Many thanks to Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) for a generous donation to CCEF to award a grant to the 2020-21 Teachers of the Year at every school. For many years, SPE has presented this award to the district-wide winner. However, this year, due to the incredible challenges that all teachers had to manage during distance learning, Sony Pictures has increased their donation to present an award to all of the Teacher of the Year site winners. In addition, a matching donation will be given to each school’s PTA in honor of the teacher.

Lani Manos, SPE Vice President of Global Corporate Responsibility stated, “Sony Pictures was pleased to be able to extend this award to a teacher at every CCUSD school site in recognition of the unprecedented challenges of this past academic year. Congratulations to all of this year’s Teacher of the Year honorees and thank you to all of the teachers, administrators and staff of the CCUSD for all that you do for the students every day.”
