Apple’s Tim Cook announced on Monday, April 26, 2021 that the company intends to add 20,000 domestic jobs, and will focus on expanding its presence in both Culver City and San Diego. The planned growth is part of the company’s $430 billion national commitment for the next five years.
Mayor Alex Fisch was quoted in The Wrap.com as saying “Apple’s investment in Culver City shows once again that we live in one of the most desirable places on earth. We’re a city that will work hard to ensure that the benefits of our success are broadly shared, and I look forward to the opportunity to demonstrate that inclusive growth is possible.”
Apple also has plans to invest in dozens of Apple TV+ productions across 20 states, making sure that all the largesse doesn’t land in California.
