Curfew Will Continue – 8 PM to 5:30 AM

Culver City’s curfew will continue through the weekend, with Sunday May 31, 2020 being the second night residents are asked to be in by 8 pm. Exceptions are allowed for work, or medical emergencies.

From the city – To protect public safety, a curfew will again be in effect tonight, Sunday, May 31 at 8:00 PM to Monday, June 1 at 5:30 AM in Culver City. Residents are advised to remain in their homes during these hours. The City Manager has declared a Local Emergency due to the threat to public health and safety in Culver City due to widespread violence. We continue to support the peaceful protest of the tragic death of George Floyd.

Culver CityBus Service will be cancelled again tonight in order to ensure the safety of our passengers, drivers, and buses.  If you need a ride home during this time please contact Culver CityBus Customer Service at (310) 253-6500.

“Culver City respects everyone’s right to peacefully protest. Our police department will continue to enforce our laws, including the curfew order, to ensure everyone stays safe,” said Culver City Mayor Göran Eriksson.

From yesterday’s statement – “The Culver City Police Department is filled with dedicated men and women that are equally disappointed and outraged regarding the disturbing circumstances surrounding the death of George Floyd , and I know our officers will do everything they can to keep our community safe, while protecting everyone’s rights to express their First Amendment rights.”
