Over the past three years the Culver City Unified School District has worked with the school community to ensure that students, staff, and families feel physically, emotionally, and psychologically safe at all times. Initially known as the Inclusion, Respect and Diversity Task Force, the group now meets monthly as the Equity Advisory Council and works collaboratively to address equity issues that impact student learning.
For the remainder of this year, the Council has chosen to divide into working subcommittees to address the following three focus areas:
District Ethos: actively engaging in anti-bias work across the district
Discipline and Safety: examining data to ensure equity in all discipline referrals;
Student Empowerment: gathering student feedback to gain insight into the student experience
In order to ensure diversity of representation from all sites and student groups, the Council is seeking additional participants to help us in our work in the areas of District Ethos, Discipline and Safety, and Student Empowerment.
Members of the school community are invited to join us at our next meeting on February 28 from 3:45pm – 5:15pm in the CCUSD Board Room, 4034 Irving Place. Subsequent meetings are scheduled for April 25 and May 23. Please click on the following survey link to sign up: EAC Interest Survey2019
