We’ve been thinking this spot is doomed for years now, but in a great twist, it will be Doomie’s Home Cooking. According to LA Eater, the hot vegan Hollywood kitchen will be taking over the much-maligned corner location that most recently held the short-lived Ramen Roll. That address has been a flurry of open-and-shut restaurants in recent years, but with a lack of expansive vegan comfort food in and around Culver City it’s possible that Doomie’s will be able to make a dent where others have not. The larger space will also allow for greater room to dine in during lunch and dinner, though service will still be fast casual — as in, ordering from the counter.
On the menu front, expect a lot of the classic Doomie’s vegan favorites, from their stacked vegan Big Mac (photo above) take on down.
There will be more grab-and-go alternatives and a focus on truly healthy plant-based bowls and the like, but more recently the team has been toying with meat- and dairy-free Mexican food so it’s possible some of those menu items could make their way to Culver City in the end as well. As for timing, look for Doomie’s to open this second location in early April.

Glad to see another CC Foodie update. Please keep up the good work.

It’s very hard to find out what the actual ingredients are in Doomie’s food. Like they don’t wanna say….The only tidbits I could find are that their burgers are soy-based, and the cheese is made in house. Judging by their food photos, this might be a place to eat when, like for its greasy, crunchy non-vegan lookalikes, you don’t give a damn WHAT’S in it. I’d guess it’s not for those with food sensitivities or particular ways of eating. Just because it’s vegan doesn’t mean it’s good for ya – maybe on the contrary. Does look yummy, though. Might hafta break the piggy bank and give it a try sometime when I just don’t give a damn.
