Antioch University Walkers Exceed Fundraising Goal for AIDS Walk

unnamedThe 2016 AIDS Walk Los Angeles took place in Grand Park, located in Downtown LA, on Sunday, October 23, 2016. For more than 25 years, AULA has participated in this important fundraising event. This year, faculty, students, family, and friends helped team Antioch Walks raise funds for service organizations dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by HIV and AIDS. Antioch Walk’s goal this year was to raise $5000 and with thanks to their generous donors, they exceeded their goal by raising $6325 with more funds still arriving!

This year’s Star Walkers were Abby Goldstein and Joy Turek. Joy Turek, Psychology Chair, has proudly served as captain of Antioch Walks since AULA’s first year of participation. “We’ve managed to make it to the top 10 teams several times, despite being a smaller institution than most. We’ve walked our talk and, by so doing, had an impact on the lives of people living with HIV and AIDS,” Joy Turek noted.
