Center Theatre Group presents “Through the Looking Glass,” as part of its Community as Creators project, which engages L.A. communities in the creation of theatre. Written by poet/playwright Jerry Quickley, “Through the Looking Glass” brings together the people of two neighborhoods – Montebello and Leimert Park – to study one another and, with a new perspective, tell each other’s stories and illuminate their own experiences. Reg e Gaines (pictured above) directs this deeply personal production which seeks to create connections, inspire and empower.
“Through the Looking Glass” will be performed at Quiet Cannon Crystal Ballroom I (901 Via San Clemente) in Montebello on February 2 at 7:30 p.m., Regency West (3339 W. 43rd St.) in Leimert Park on February 3 at 7:30 p.m. and at the Kirk Douglas Theatre (9820 Washington Blvd.) in Culver City on February 8 at 8 p.m.
All performances are free but reservations are recommended. Reservations can be made at www.CenterTheatreGroup.org/about/artistic-development/through-the-looking-glass.
