Scammers Continue to Prey on Edison Customers

Utility-Bill-ScamScammers continue to target utility customers. Typically, they pose as utility “collection” employees and threaten to disconnect electricity service unless a payment is made immediately using a pre-paid cash card. This is a scam.

Scammers are deceiving utility customers into paying non-existent bills with threats of immediate service shut off. Southern California Edison wants you to know: SCE employees will never ask you to purchase pre-paid cash cards to pay your utility bill. If you get a call demanding money by a pre-paid cash card or other personal financial information, hang up and call the police. SCE is here to help and we don’t want you to become victims of this scam. You can always contact us if you have questions about your bill. Call SCE directly at 1-800-990-7788 (for business customers) or 1-800-655-4555 (for residential customers) or go to SCE.com.
