This is the week when Culver City gets the holidays started with two events to get you out to spend time with your friends in the community. The Annual Downtown Tree Lighting will take place this Thursday, December 3, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Town Plaza (near the Culver Hotel and ArcLight Theatre.) This tradition will include a performance by the AVPA Chamber Singers and even more voices from both Lin Howe and La Ballona Elementary Schools.
Start your evening at Which ‘Wich on Main Street, and mentioning Lin Howe while you order your sandwich will give a boost to the Linwood E. Howe PTA and help their holidays get happy.
Hot cider, hot cocoa and other goodies will be available from the Culver Hotel during the festivities, and afterwards, all of downtown will be ready to welcome the revelers with some Culver City cheer.
Santa will begin his seasonal visit with photos opportunities on the sleigh behind the plaza, near the front of Culver Studios, after the program.
Our own Parks and Recreation Department will be lighting up the tower on Dec. 4th at 6:30 pm, and starting the show at 7 pm with everything from Shokotan Karate to the singing and dancing stars of DeeLightful Musical Theater. The complete catalog of PRCS programs is available in the “Culver City Living” Brochure on the Culver City website, www.CulverCity.org. And there will be more hot cocoa. You really can’t turn on the Christmas lights without hot cocoa.
Get ready for some happy holidays! Bundle up warm and join in the merry making.
