Mark Stambler was happily supplying a couple of local shops with traditional French breads from his wood-fired oven when he was busted by the Health Department.
Motivated by the Department’s surprise visit to this home, Mark worked for 18 months to pass the California Homemade Food Act, which legalizes what he and thousands of other people throughout California love to do: sell food they make at home.
Come learn about Mark’s adventures in lawmaking! Mark began the process pretty much unaware of what goes on in Sacramento. Over the course of a year and a half, he learned a great deal about what goes into writing and passing a piece of legislation in California. He looks forward to sharing his story and answering questions about how work really gets done in our state capital.
