CC Foodie – FIN Serves Summer Cocktails

downloadSweet summer liquids are flowing at the ever-so chic and cool FIN in Culver City. The lavish Asian tapas restaurant is mixing up sweltering solstice flavors of tart citrus, refreshing lychee and an abundance of other warm weather farm-fresh ingredients featured in their new refreshing Summer Cocktail Menu!

“All of our new cocktails are light and invigorating. We designed each one to evoke a little bit of a summer vibe, whether they are a blend of tropical flavors or are a nice icy contrast to a hot day,” says Partner and Beverage Director Ken Whang. The new Summer Cocktail Menu features five new luscious libations and two old-school throwback FIN favorites.

Stir up a little Orange vodka with Cointreau, mixed with fresh orange and lime juice and you have the Tangerine Blossom (Orange vodka + Cointreau + orange juice + lime juice = Tangerine Blossom?) We know what you are thinking, where is the tangerine? “The combination of lime and orange almost tastes like a tangerine,” says Whang. “Hence the name. I also love the fragrance of this cocktail, as it reminds me of orange trees blossoming during the summer in my hometown.”

For a little more vodka, there is the sweetly chilled and refreshing Lychee Martini shaken up with vodka and fresh lychee juice, which Whang has been concocting and perfecting for years, so you know that you are in for a brilliantly balanced summer treat when you order up one or two of these!

Next, center your soul with the juicy Jade Buddha mixed up with Midori, Malibu rum, orange and lime. This “eye-catching” jewel of a cocktail marries coconut and melon flavors that naturally conjure up the feel of sunbathing on a tropical island.

As for the ardent and robust, there are two new whiskey selections to sip on as well. A classic with a twist, the FIN Sour is mixed up with rye whiskey, Disaronno and lemon juice, while The Tokyo puts another spin on tradition. Stirred up with Yamazaki whiskey, Carpano vermouth and a dash of bitters, this high-end martini is an Eastern version of the Manhattan, using high-end Japanese whiskey.

FIN fans will be happy to know that two throwback cocktails will remain on the menu during the summer, including the popular Washington Boulevard made with Bulleit bourbon, Aperol, Amaro, bitters and an orange peel. And nobody will have to say goodbye to the vibrant Hello Kitty. The beautiful bright pink libation crafted with Ketel One vodka, Pom juice, lemon, agave and fresh berries is a great sipper for sunny days.

As, for those who prefer to imbibe by the bottle (or glass), these seven signature cocktails are flanked by an extensive list of Wine, Sake and Beer, featuring eighteen sakes, six bottled beers and a wine list composed of six bubblies, eleven whites and thirteen reds.

Containing no more than five ingredients each, “these new cocktails are balanced and straightforward,” says Whang. “All of them complement our food really nicely.” And with fresh sashimi, like the Citrus Truffle Salmon Sashimi or crisp bite-sized Jicama Fish Tacos or even the indulgent Mango Miso Duck, how could they not pair perfectly.

The Westside also just got a little happier, as FIN offers Happy Hour daily and Reverse Happy Hour six days a week! So swing by FIN soon to sip summery flavors, where fresh Asian tapas collide with elegant libations on Washington Boulevard.
