A large body of research shows that high quality arts education is associated with a wide range of benefits including improved academic performance, better standardized test scores, increased involvement in community service and lower dropout rates.
A recent report from the Los Angeles County Arts Commission looked at the arts in Los Angeles County public schools. Among its findings was the CCUSD was one of just nine districts in the county that has developed art partnerships at every school in the district.
In fact, CCUSD had nearly 200 art partnerships at its eight elementary, middle and high school sites, underscoring the district’s on-going commitment to provide arts education to all of its students.
