Dear Editor – Culver City Bike Count

Light-bulb-0003-300x198Hello Culver City Crossroads,

My name is Patrick Murray and I volunteer with the Culver City Bike Coalition. We are conducting the bike and pedestrian count for the City of Culver City. We need volunteers to help with data collection. We hope you can help us get the word out.

The Culver City Bicycle Coalition is looking for volunteers to help with the City of Culver City’s Bike & Pedestrian count. The data collected goes to track Culver City’s progress on becoming a more bike friendly community and to provide valuable information needed when applying for grants.

The actual task is to sit on a sidewalk next to an intersection for 2 hours and count the number of bicycles & pedestrians which cross a certain point. Not all bikes or pedestrians which go through the intersection will need to be counted. Folks can bring a chair, something to drink and a hat for shade is usually a good idea.

Our dates this year are Sat May 16th Noon-2pm, and Tuesday May 19th 7-9am and 4-6pm.

The dates are 5/16 from Noon to 2pm and Tues. 5/19 from 7-9am and 4-6pm. We’ll have a training session for the volunteers on 5/13 in the evening.
