There’s an Election today, and you need to vote. Culver City has a very short ballot, so it won’t take much time.
Seat 1 – Andra Hoffman
Seat 3 – Sydney Kamlanger
Seat 5 – Scott Svonkin
Seat 7 – Mike Fong
Why? Some good recommendations, endorsed by organizations I like, people on the inside that I trust, and enough information to feel comfortable recommending them to you.
Yes, it’s important to vote for the community college district; while West Los Angeles College is not in Culver City proper, it’s as close as a neighbor can get, and one of the colleges chosen to start offering four-year degrees through the new California plan to open higher education to more people. When you have good leaders in office, it makes a huge difference.
We will also have some interesting effects from whatever happens in Los Angeles – will they decide to consolidate elections? Will we think about following suit? All that comes out tomorrow. Today, just go vote.
