
While there are post-election day stories about the winners and the ballot measures, the sad tale is the the turnout was less than 10%. A mere 8.6% of registered voters bothered to turn out to vote.
With Hermosa Beach voting no on oil drilling, and the Los Angeles voters agreeing to consolidate elections, there were important issues at stake yesterday on the ballot. The few who cared enough to voice their preferences carried the day.
