Join MCLM for a screening of the eye-opening 2011 documentary, Hidden Colors, from New York Times bestselling author and social commentator, Tariq Nasheed. This Saturday Feb. 28 at 4 pm at the Mayme Clayton Library and Museum, Hidden Colors will be presented as a part of the Black Talkies Film Series.
This first part of an ongoing series, Hidden Colors explores the untold history of people of color around the globe. Featuring insight from scholars, historians and social commentators, including Dr. Phil Valentine and Dr. Frances Cress Welsing, the documentary uncovers rare and untold facts about the original image of Christ, and the true story of the Moors. With a unique global perspective, the film unearths the original people of Asia, sheds light on the great West African Empires and examines the presence of Africans in America before the arrival of Christopher Columbus.
This documentary is sure to inform and entertain while illuminating a world history often left out of American textbooks. The afternoon will be hosted by Executive Director Lloyd Clayton and a discussion with film historian Les Wills will immediately follow the screening.
Screening is FREE!
