This weekend will see the next Culver City Symphony Concert ‘For Young Musicians’ on Saturday, February 28 2015, 8:00PM
Matthew Hetz, the President of the CCSO, offered, “After our Jan. 31, 2015, concert of smaller forces with the string orchestra, for this concert we present the full symphony orchestra in intimate Veterans Memorial Auditorium for a big sound in a smallish space. Plus, in our continuing support of young musicians, we present the Junior Division Winner, Kevin Miura, (see photo at left) from our Parness Concerto Competition.”
The music on the program for the evening includes Mozart’s miraculous overture to “The Magic Flute,” Stravinsky’s spiky reworking of music from the past in “Pulcinella,” and Schumann’s lush Symphony No. 2 complete the program. The program will be conducted by Frank Fetta.
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students and are available online (click on the bottom banner ad to access the site) or at the box office on the evening of the performance.
