The AVPA Music Department at Culver City High School will present a musical celebration of the season in a festive winter concert, this Friday Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.. Among the highlights:
The String Ensemble will be joined by a wind section to perform Tchaikovsky’s Agitato and Allegro in E minor – a work the Russian composer wrote as a student for a composition class.
The Concert Band and Chamber Singers will join forces in a finale featuring Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”
The Jazz Ensemble will usher in the holiday spirit with “My Favorite Things” and “Chanukah Joy.” They will also perform the Big Band hit “Sing, Sing, Sing.”
