‘Tis the Season for Song: AVPA Music to Present Festive Winter Concert, Dec. 12

unnamedThe AVPA Music Department at Culver City High School will present a musical celebration of the season in a festive winter concert, this Friday Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.. Among the highlights:

The String Ensemble will be joined by a wind section to perform Tchaikovsky’s Agitato and Allegro in E minor – a work the Russian composer wrote as a student for a composition class.
The Concert Band and Chamber Singers will join forces in a finale featuring Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride.”
The Jazz Ensemble will usher in the holiday spirit with “My Favorite Things” and “Chanukah Joy.” They will also unnamed-1perform the Big Band hit “Sing, Sing, Sing.”

AVPA String Ensemble, Concert Band, Chamber Singers, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Flute Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and Sax Ensemble  December 12 at 7 p.m. (admission free; donations welcome)
