Schools, businesses and homes all over Culver City will be participating in the Great California Shake-Out, a state-wide earthquake drill at 10:16 a.m. on Thursday, October 16. The event will include coordinated efforts between the school district, Culver City Police Department and Culver City Fire Department designed to prepare students, staff, teachers, families and emergency responders for a major earthquake.
The need for everyone to have a plan ready in case of an emergency is something that bears reminding – If your family does not have a disaster plan in place, today is the day to create one.
At 7:00 p.m. on October 16, 2014, Culver City residents have a second opportunity to practice their drills! If you don’t have it redy for 10:16 this morning, you can do the second drill tonight at 7 pm. The city is residents and the business community to participate in the City’s Annual Community-Wide Drill at 7:00 p.m. on October 16th.
Place your bright yellow OK sign in your window to let first responders know that everyone in your home is OK, and help is not needed. By eliminating the households that do not need aid, emergency workers can get to those who do need help more quickly.
