What a better way to start summer and celebrate the longest day of the year with a clean-up of Ballona Creek. You’ll have plenty of time to meet other motivated volunteers, pick up trash, learn about the creek and still enjoy the rest of your day. Come make a difference!
Saturday, June 21, 9am-noon, at the Ballona Creek bike path entrance, Centinela Avenue at Milton Street, Los Angeles 90066.
Volunteers of all ages are welcome for this fun and worthwhile activity. It’s also a great way for students to earn community service credits.
Waivers required: As with all creek and coastal cleanups, participants under 18 need waiver forms signed by their parent or guardian (available on-site or online). Adult volunteers also need to sign waivers.
The goal is to be a zero waste event, which means we will not be producing more trash than we are picking up. Bring your own water in a reusable container, water will also be available at the event. Bags, buckets, grabbers, gloves and other tools will be available to use but feel free to bring your own gear. Wear closed-toed shoes, cap and sunscreen.
