Seven CCUSD Schools Recognized for Excellence

index.1The California Business for Education Excellence has recognized seven CCUSD schools for their outstanding success in raising student academic achievement: Culver City High School, Culver City Middle School, El Marino Language School, El Rincon Elementary School, Farragut Elementary School, La Ballona Elementary School, and Linwood E. Howe Elementary School.

After an extensive analysis of student achievement data for every public school in California, these schools stood well above the rest in raising their students to grade-level proficiency and beyond, and each has been named a 2013 California Business for Education Excellence Honor Roll School.

Since 2005 the Honor Roll increased from 261 high performing schools to an inspiring 2,099 high performing schools in 2013.

“This is a testament to the relentless focus on results for students that these schools have shown over the years,” ” said Dr. James S. Lanich, President & CEO of the California Business for Education Excellence. “It is also a strong statement about how success is occurring and spreading in public schools across the state.”

Lanich said schools will be recognized in local and state media as well as at events across the state.

“Their success stories will provide hope and direction for many other public schools — that all students can reach high levels of academic achievement,” he said.
