A delightful time was had by all at the Culver City Education Foundation’s (CCEF) 5th Annual “Sip for Our Schools” held last Saturday October 19, 2013. A big thank you to our hosts Barrister Executive Suites and LA Urban Homes. Everyone who came enjoyed the beautiful center atrium, old photographs of Venice Beach on the walls, delicious tastes of wine, craft beer and food, enhanced by the splendid sounds of the AVPA Jazz Combo. CCEF is grateful also to Sorrento’s Italian Market for donating the wonderful assortment of wine, City Tavern for the delicious craft beers, and Mama Gold’s Kitchen for the delectable sweets. Gourmet Fetishes provided the savory nibbles
Attendees were greeted by our trustees, given their choice of glass (for wine or for beer), and then they went upstairs for the real party. Sip attracts a microcosm of the larger Culver City community mixing and enjoying each other’s company. City Council members and their partners were among the guests joined by Culver City’s Mayor Jeff Cooper, his wife Rafia, and Vice Mayor Meghan Sahli-Wells. School Board President Kathy Paspalis, School Board members Laura Chardiet and Karlo Silbiger mingled with parents from each of our schools.
CCEF is celebrating thirty-one years of enriching the educational experience of the students in our district through community and local business donations and support. The fifth Sip for Our Schools event definitely succeeded as a “Friendraiser” bringing the district, businesses and community members together to kick off the new school year, and to unite in CCEF’s continuing efforts to support the Culver City schools.
