Feng Shui and Dowsing – Janet Mitsui Brown

Dowsing is a divination art, taking us on a journey beyond our five senses, and it is one of the most ancient and particular art/science forms known to mankind. It is used to detect and cure energy pockets in our environment created by the Earth’s natural energy flow that are in conflict with our bodies and homes.

Put in context, feng shui helps you to work with the energy of a template also known as the bagua – the nine energy directions, the five elements, and yin/yang concepts.

Dowsing helps you to work with the physical energy systems that come from the environment – the earth’s center and the patterns or grids it creates around individuals. It helps you identify powerful systems and directs you to cure the negative properties, or enhance your personal well being by understanding where positive properties are located.

There are dowsing rods – a lightweight L-shaped metal rod that is used to detect subtle shifts in energy vibrations coming from the earth. These disturbances – underground water, fault lines or fractures in the earth – can negatively impact our body and immune system – challenging us physically and spiritually. Discovering the imbalances and curing them is an important part of Feng Shui.

And there are pendulums, a more personal dowsing tool. A pendulum will swing in a certain direction, and with practice, you understand what its movement relates to you. A pendulum will help you tap into your intuition, to access information you may be unaware of. It can become a trusted friend. Balancing your home and your self are both important parts of feng shui.
