There is nothing better for the soul or the whole social structure than making art, and here is a beautiful invitation to explore an idea and add to a great cause. Antioch University’s Artistic Uprising is asking for artists to create a deity, and share it for the show. What could be more fun than that ?
All artists and all mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including oil, acrylic pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Live performance including spoken word, music, and performance art is welcome as a part of the onstage venue. This year’s theme Make Up Your Own g(G)od, was chosen as a way to have a constructive dialogue about the creative force in our lives.
This event is sponsored by Antioch University and benefits the Bridge Program. Since 1999, the Bridge Program at Antioch University Los Angeles (AULA) has been doing something simply revolutionary: providing college classes to low-income adults in Los Angeles, at no cost to students. Artists are asked to donate a percentage of their sales to the Bridge Program. All proceeds from Artistic Uprising go to the Bridge Program.
