Join the MCLM as we celebrate Halloween with the 1943 RKO horror film I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE, directed by Jacques Tourneur and starring Frances Dee, Tom Conway and James Ellison. This zombie film uses the setting of a West Indies plantation to tell its haunting voodoo tale. Leonard Maltin calls the film an “exceptional Val Lewton(producer) chiller with rich atmosphere and a mesmerizing story.” Following the film there will be a discussion on the movie and how it fits into the history of Black cinema. I WALKED WITH A ZOMBIE is rated PG and may not be suitable for small children.
