New Farmer’s Market Opening – Sept. 2

The Motor Avenue Farmers’ Market will be open Sundays from 9am to 1pm, starting September 2, 2012. The market will take place on National Boulevard west of Motor Avenue, and feature the best of local produce, as well as prepared foods and crafts from local restaurants and artisans.

The farmers’ market is a collaborative effort of the Motor Avenue Improvement Association, Faith2Green, as well as a supportive group of local businesses and residents. It was made possible with the help of Councilmember Paul Koretz of Council District 5 and County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas. The market will enhance the availability of fresh local produce to area residents and strengthen the farmer-to-consumer connection.

In addition to fresh in-season fruits and vegetables, the market will feature many interesting and unique products from local businesses, ranging from hand-painted jewelry to cupcakes. El Nopal and The Vegan Joint will be providing breakfast options, while Sunflower Baking will offer cookies and other baked treats.

Join us on September 2 for a lively morning that will include musical performances and prizes.

New vendors are always welcome to apply for a booth. Please contact [email protected] to receive a vendor packet. For more details about the market, visit www.motoravenuemarket.com. You can also find us on Facebook at facebook.com/motoraveFM.
