Hired in June, Principal Jennifer Slabbinck is gearing up to lead La Ballona Elementary School. She previously served as Coordinator of Immersion and Magnet Programs in the Glendale Unified School District, where she handled everything from project implementation and marketing to budget oversight and monitoring desegregation efforts.
“Jennifer’s experience at various levels of education makes her an outstanding addition to the CCUSD family,” said Superintendent David LaRose. “The parents, students, teachers and staff will all benefit from her leadership abilities.”
Slabbinck has also served as District Specialist for Gifted/Talented Programs in Los Angeles Unified School District, Academic Dean for the UCLA Summer Institute for the Gifted and Acting Assistant Principal at R.D. White Elementary School in the Glendale Unified School District, where she also spent seven years as an elementary school teacher.
Slabbinck earned her bachelor’s degree in theater from New York University and her master’s degree in educational leadership and policy studies from California State University – Northridge.
I am really looking forward to working with Jennifer at La Ballona Elementary. If you are a La Ballona parent like me, we will be having a School Cleanup with a Meet and Greet with our new principal this Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Morning and afternoon is cleanup and 1pm to 2pm is the Meet and Greet. See you there!!
